Upcoming shows: Thought Bubble and MCM London

2018 has been a little less hectic for shows, with certain events like DIY Cultures taking a break, but this Autumn you can find me at two of the UK's largest events.

I'm back for my sixth visit to Leeds' Thought Bubble Festival. This year I'll be in the big  ComiXology Marquee, once again tabling with Dom McKenzie

And a month later, I'm at MCM's London Comic Con, having also exhibited at the May show this year.

The Little Blop Book of COOL!

Event: Illustration and Print Fair in Eastbourne

Following our successful Brighton MA show, the class has been invited to exhibit at this weekend's Illustration and Print Fair at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. Several of us will be there with a great range of books, prints, postcards, original art and more (you can even get your hands on this handsome Blop Enamel Pin there too!)

It's free to get in, and there's lots of great names from the world of illustration. What are you waiting for? -mark the date in your diary now.

BlopShop's first book fair of the year is just over a month away. Alex will be returning to the Diy Cultures Fair, having first exhibited there in 2014.
So come along to Rich Mix on Sunday 14th May and grab yourself some great limited edition books and prints...and there might just be a brand new book too!

Alex has been invited to be one of the three guest artists at the next Gosh! and Broken Frontier Drink and Draw, alongside the enormously talented Jamie Coe and Eleanor Crewes.

Conventions booked

2017 looks set to be a busy year for BlopShop; less than a month in and we already have two big shows booked, add these dates to your calendar:

May 26th -28th
In May, BlopShop returns to the ExCel Centre for MCM London. Once again joined by the illustrator and designer Dom McKenzie.

August 25th -27th
This August, BlopShop will be appearing for the first time at London Super Comic Con (aka L.S.C.C.) at the Business Design Centre, Islington.

Alex Hahn's zine makes competition shortlist!

Great news: SPACE RACE (Three Zines by Alex Hahn) has made the shortlist for the World Illustration Awards!

SPACE RACE is a set of three handmade zines, each folded in a distinct way from a single A3 sheet of coloured paper. Only 120 of these sets have been made, and creator, Alex Hahn couldn't be happier to see the books' success

"Traditionally zines and comics seem to occupy the less respected end of illustration, so to see a self-published work recognised in this was is very encouraging."

The World Illustration Awards are an annual honour organised by the Association of Illustrators, with the Directory of Illustration, now in its 40th year.

Attention BlopShoppers! This weekend, on Saturday 14th May, Alex will be at the Comica Comiket, held at the house of Illustration in London (just behind King's Cross station).

There's various activities and lots of other small-press creators selling work too, so do check it out.
Alex will have his great selection of books and images, as well as some brand new keyrings and prints.
There's only a few copies of You know who wear the Lion-Skin in this relationship left, so Saturday may be your last chance to get hold of one!

BlopShop has a table this Sunday at the DIY Art Market at Epic Dalston in London, if you're around, come check it out and get some awesome books!

I'm also pleased to announce that for the fourth year running, BlopShop will be at the legendary Thought Bubble, in Leeds, alongside Dom McKenzie! Come see us in November.

Show booking: MCM London May 27th-29th 2016

Alex is pleased to announce the first booking for 2016 ...MCM's London Comic Con!

This May, over the 27th, 28th and 29th, BlopShop will be returning to the Excel Centre in London. Alex will be joining fellow illustrator Dom McKenzie again, too: "expect to see all our great titles, prints, special offers and great merchandise...as well as some new surprises...come find us in the comic village!"
